Since 2001, Armonk Veterinary has been caring for the pets of Armonk and the surrounding communities in Westchester and Fairfield counties. With an emphasis on client communication and preventative medicine, it is our mission to provide you with the highest quality veterinary care for every stage of your pet’s life from pediatric examinations and vaccines through to geriatric wellness visits.

Originally founded as the Animal Clinic of Armonk by Dr. Patrice Whittington, the practice has expanded its services under its new Medical Director, Dr. Rick Germano. Armonk Veterinary is now pleased to offer hospitalization with staff members on premises 24 hours per day and after hours and weekend emergency service.

Dr. Rick Germano

Dr. Germano is a graduate of the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and has been the owner and medical director of Armonk Veterinary since 2008.

As medical director, Dr. Germano is responsible for the implementation of all hospital policies and standards relating to patient care. Dr. Germano’s special interests include preventative health care, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.

Prior to practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Germano served as a US Peace Corps volunteer in Kenya for 2 years and received his bachelors degree from Tufts University.

Dr. Germano resides nearby in Bedford with his wife Kay, their daughter Sophia, and the family’s three beagles (Frances, Lili and Milton), black & tan coonhound (Clementine) and cat (Grady).

Dr. Madeline Mendez

Dr. Mendez is a New York native who has been practicing veterinary medicine for over fifteen years.  Following her graduation from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001, Dr. Mendez completed an internship in small animal medicine at Hollywood Animal Hospital in South Florida.

Upon returning to New York, Dr. Mendez joined the staff at Meadow Veterinary Hospital where she practiced as an Associate Veterinarian for thirteen years. In 2018, Dr. Mendez joined Armonk Veterinarian where she and Dr. Germano provide medical medicine and surgery for the pets of Armonk and the surrounding communities.

In her spare time Dr Mendez enjoys working out and traveling.  She shares her home with Hector the Yorkie and two very fresh guinea pigs who shall remain nameless!
